NEW MAYBELLINE 2020… What's Great & What's Just MEH.

hello everyone it is that time of yearwhere the drugstore brands and reallyall brands seem to be pushing out a lotof new launches just at the start of theyear I always notice this happening andespecially with Maybelline right now Ifound some new things I got them onaltas website most of them and there'ssome pretty significant aspects to theline there's a new foundation a neweyeshadow palette mascara a cream blushand I have been working with them for awhile certain things are really reallyimpressing me and so I wanted to kind ofshare that with you today along with thethings that maybe aren't a hundredpercent for me right now I also have apainful canker sore on my tongue sothat's not making talking a whole lot offun right now but here goes the firstthing is this new foundation and it'scalled dream radiant liquid and itclaims to have hyaluronic acid andcollagen I have it in nude beige andthey do say it's a medium coveragefoundation with radiant finish up to 12hours of continuous hydration and I dofeel like this is a really hydratingfoundation like after you blend it in Idefinitely feel a distinct do enos to myskin and it doesn't seem to really fadeaway as I wear this even though I makean effort to set it it still manages tofeel kind of dewy so this might be agood foundation to check out if you havedry skin I do not feel like it has anyvisible shimmer to it but it does end uplooking kind of glowy now it has a pumpand it's not my proper shade it's alittle too dark that's what happensy'all when you order this stuff onlineyou're gonna miss the mark at times butI feel like by the time I get thisblended in you will probably get a senseof what the coverage is like and justkind of what the finish is like I'veapplied it with a Beauty Blender beforeI do feel like it takes away some of thecoverage and this is one you know whenyou're kind of on the bubble as a mediumcoverage foundation if you'd like it tobe fuller coverage you can really affectthat not that's gonna turn fullercoverage but if you'd like to enhancethe coverage you could affect that alittle bit more by using a dense brushso I'm getting it blended in and did younotice how when I first dabbed it acrossmy skin it seemed like a pretty goodshade at least it didn't seem too faroff and then it very quicklyit oxidized a little bit and deepeneddepth some so just something to be awareof and kind of watch for if you'reconsidering this foundation and youmight even err on the side of going alittle lighter than you think you needI'm just getting this all buffed in I'mtrying to get it nicely around myhairline since as I noted it's not myperfect shade it's kind of reminding mea little bit of the performance and thelook of the L'Oreal infallible Pro glowwhich I really do like that stuff onlythis may be even more hydrating maybejust a hint thicker so as we can seecoverage wise at least I can definitelysee in my mirror you know you're gonnasee the freckles showing through I stillsee some redness still see some darkcircles but it's more of an overallmedium coverage evening out of the skinthat's happening here to me I think thisfoundation is a like not a loved part ofit too is that oxidizing that happenedearly on even though I don't have abrand new Maybelline concealer I'm gonnago on with my Maybelline instant agerewind brightener which I have beenusing a ton lately by the way and I feellike you know sometimes I wear it on topof other concealers if I just want thatextra brightened effect but I also canget away with wearing it on its own andI've got some coverage you know somereally decent coverage with it and thenthis is my little Real Techniques sortof I call it like a buffing concealerbrush but it's actually a highlighterbrush and just kind of I'm doing almosta pressing motion over that concealer soas to not swipe it around too much butmore so just press it into the skin so Ican get that nice coverage and yes I caneven get away with using that particularconcealer around the redness on thesides of my nose and it does a decentjob with thatoh my gosh you guys who is watchingcheer on Netflix you've got to watch itI still think even if you're not intocheerleading it's just a really welldone like docu-series I guess you'd callit on a community college cheerleadingsquad in Texas called Navarro who hashad incredible success on the nationalscale and I've known about them you knowI follow cheerleading competitions and Icheered in college myself it's just ahuge interest to me but the way they diginto these kids lives and the coach andjust all this stuff it's fascinating towatch and the way it ends up all goingat the end like you've got to watch itI'm not gonna spoil it but you got tosee it we just finished it last night Igo more more all right I'm gonna setmyself with a little bit of myMaybelline fit me loose powder like Isaid if I don't have a new product I'mjust gonna sort of fill in the blankswith older Maybelline products but I dolove this powder I haven't reached forit in a while as far as the settingpowder goes but I've used a lot of myLaura Mercier translucent pressed powderlately that's kind of been the go-to forjust a quick under eye setting powderwith this I do kind of feel like I wantmy whole face set somewhat because thatfoundation just you know if I come incontact with my skin throughout the dayif I'm giving a hug to maybe a littlebaby or something like I just don't liketo feel that tacky because I feel likethere's more of a chance of stufftransferring off and that's just not thefeeling I'm going for so I will get someof this on my brush and I'm just kind ofpressing it here right on top of theskin but I used my small tapered brushto get a really you know focused effectfrom the powder on my under eye and myt-zone just hit the forehead a littlebit better here if you do not feel likeshelling out for the Laura Mercier andtranslucent loose powder this Maybellinefit me is about I think as close as itgets from the drugstore now I'm notseeing a Maybelline bronzer on thepremises anywhere so I'm gonna go aheadand use my butter bronzer this is thesculpting shade from Physicians Formulawe'll just sub in another drugstoreproduct trying to think what Maybellinereally has four bronzers these daysbecause I had recently decluttered likea bronzer palette that I have from thembecause I remember the only great thingin it was like the highlighter shade sonow that I've done that I don't reallyhave any Maybelline bronzerand the interesting thing even though Iput that powder on like I can still feeldoing this on my skin so that'ssomething that I guess unless you put aton of powder on which I don't reallylike to do you're still gonna have thatsensation you know to the touch withthis foundation now for blush here's thenew thing it's called cheek heat andit's a little tube a style blush creamblush I have it in the rose flushedshade and it was really hard to open upat first you might need to bring himsome pliers but it is a really nicetexture to work with actually seems likebrands are sort of working toward acream blush texture that doesn't set toofast on the skin and just remains prettynicely blendable in fact I'm gonna goahead and just sort of work this in withmy fingers on one side you can kind ofjust press it in it's got some moistureto it it's reminding me a little bit ofmaybe a fuller colored version of thatnew Physicians Formula stuff that I findit to be a really pretty shade and is ita little goes a long way type color notespecially I feel like I've got ahealthy amount on the skin right now andI'm not looking over the top with it Isaid it was gonna blend that side outwith a brush actually and I just kind ofpicked some up off my finger with thisbrush I kind of prefer using the brushjust because I think I'm messing withthe surface of my skin less and I'm lesslikely to move around any coverage thatI've got going on there but I meanthat's pretty it's not really a shimmeryproduct it's just sort of pure colorcan't remember how many different shadesthey had in this but like I said I'mwearing this rose shade and it comes offI think pretty subtle for highlight it'sso not so new Maybelline but semi newyou know as far as their line goes it'sthe master chrome and this is in therose gold molten shade this is a reallyreally intense highlight I rememberedusing this in the video where it was thepopular products at Walmart video and Iremember thinking like you could havethis highlight for a long long timebecause you barely just shimmy yourbrush into theand then you've got so much and itdoesn't particularly seem rose-gold tome it seems almost like a brighteningpinky kind of highlight which rose goldI think of being a little warmer anddeeper but I'm adding a little bit tothe forehead and we'll do a littleCupid's bow action as well whoa that's alot and for brows one of my favoritefinds of 2019 I'm gonna use myMaybelline tattoo studio pomade in theash brown shade comes with this littlebrush that is an angled brush and aspoolie and I really like that and Idefinitely take advantage of both endsof the brush and I feel like I've gottenkind of quick with the application ofthis but if you're new to pomadesthere's a little bit of a learning curvethat it takes place I think but I saidthis in my like best of the year videoI'm impressed with how well this haslasted because I mean I've been usingthis since summer and I don't feel likeit's dried out and I don't feel likeit's gonna dry out anytime soon andanother neat thing about this is if youdidn't want to do anything else in termsof a gel you know any kind of holding orfixing step at the end of it like Idon't think you'd really have to becauseit does kind of keep my brows in placepretty well sometimes I'll go ahead andapply something on top sometimes itwon't I didn't pick it up but I didnotice in Walmart I think Maybelline hassome more like skinny pencils theydidn't look like the master preciseskinny that I had recently gone throughI think they had some small pencils andsome gels I'm gonna go out on a limb andsay that if there's one product thattends to be similar across differentmakeup linesit's the Browse stuff like I feel likethe skinny pencils they're almost allthe same almost you know with someexceptions here and there but a lot ofbrands are doing those very verysimilarly some of the gels some brandsgo for a real boldly colorful gel someare more tinted some have great holdsome don't but the pencils everybody'skind of got the formula down on thepencil I guess so just brushing throughmaking sure I've gotten I guess as evenas they can be right now and then for aneye primer I'm just gonna use my Milanibecause I do not have a Maybelline sorryandI'm so excited to show you guys thiseyeshadow palette because that isdefinitely like the eyeshadow paletteand the mascara I'm gonna show you superpumped about these and for me to besuper pumped about like a new neutralpalette that's come out it's like howmany neutral palettes do we need wellthe execution of this one is reallyfreakin good its nudes of New York andthis is definitely the best I think Ishadow product they have come out withyet all of the finishes in here arereally great to work with we've got somemattes we've got some shimmers and Ilike that they didn't go that sort oftrendy direction with their shimmers andmake them really chunky and sparkly andflaky everything is just really smoothvery pearlescent easy to work with so ifyou can't tell here your shimmers arethese two shades right up here and thenwe've got a little core of somemetallics down here with like gold and adeeper gold bronze you might say acopper a deeper brownish bronze overhere and one up here that's sort of likea taupe but you know they're starting towin me over with this like darkcranberry down here we've got a plum soit seems like a formula brands arerealizing works really well in theseneutral palettes now to get awell-rounded one is to have your basicmats to have your golds and browns alsothrow in some burgundy also throw in alittle bit of plum because look at thisother palette I also just recently gotit's from Milani it's called gilded nudeand what are they also doing okay we'vegot Brownswe've got some Burgundy we've got youknow a little hint at some dusty lilachere but I did not enjoy this palette aswell as this oneI just wish they would have gone for itwith normal textures like you knowthey've got a few nice shimmers in herebut this one it just flaked all over myface and this one did not build up verywell and when you eliminate both ofthose you eliminate a nice rich shadethat could have been good in a mattetexture let's say here and here you nowhave no light shimmery shade in thewhole palette really because that one'sgone gone to me because when I use iteven directly on top of a tacky base itwas going everywhere so this Maybellineone I feel like anybody could dip intothis and just be like wow these texturesare really super nice and I've talkedabout before their little city minipalates liking those and how the matteones are so good and this almost seemslike a combination of different Mattthemed city mini palettes sort of fusedinto one very conveniently sized paletteI will say but how many shades are inhere four eight twelve sixteen colorsare in this thing and it's prettycompact and easy to use so you may belike I've got enough neutrals don'ttempt me but I'm just saying it's a goodquality execution here if you were justwondering about that and it definitelyputs you know like the nudes the palettethat Maybelline put out years and yearsago I was actually the first person tobe sent that and reviewed it at the timethis is leaps and bounds beyond that I'mjust the pigmentation the blend abilityof everything is so great so I went intoExplorer which is kind of a mathy shadethere and I'm gonna get that going inthe crease I'm gonna try to do somethinga little different today I might do likea little bit of a halo eye type deal alot of times though I will say when I'mtrying and eye shadow palette for youguys not necessarily trying to do someunusual technique I'm trying to justapply the products in a way that showsoff like what they can do how does itblend in the crease how does it pack onon the lid like I'm just trying to showsome specific things and not really doit in a wildly different way than whatI'm used to and kind of just to showlike how does this fit into my templateof eyeshadow application but thispalette I assure you is this it is soniceso I'm now gonna go over to globetrotterhere this is a beautiful burgundy thatthey've given us in a more generous sizeover on the side and this just I lovewhat it does for a look and love thatkind of tone it sheers out and it lookslike really rusty and pretty and you cansee very pigmented I'm only just tappinglightly into these shadesthen I think I'm going to take some ofthis color down here called Voyager andit seems like a sort of a plummy Brownand I'm going to Pat that on the lid onthe outer part and also kind of here onthe inner part and we'll let our lightpop excuse me be more so on the centerpart of the lid so when I do somethinglike this I'll Pat I'll kind of flip mybrush and I'll try to work the shadeupward into the crease a bit as well wecan bring in a smaller brush to help usblendanother new neutral palette that Ireally think is good is the one fromcolour-pop called bare necessities likeit's got a lot of beautiful shades inthere but this almost feels like aedited down version of that you know thecolor pop palette did a good job ofworking in some different color familiesa few little different directions youcould go but something I really respectabout this Maybelline palette is thelack of overlap like everything isholding its place here as its ownspecific shade and there's nothing tooclose to each other okay so you can seewhat I'm doing here I'm just taking my25 brush that I initially applied stuffto the crease with and just trying tosmooth my colors out take a littlehighlight here this shade called soloistby the way so full coverage I did itpretty much an all matte look the otherday with this and I let that creamybeige a vanilla type shade go all overmy lid and it just held its own so wellit's very full coverage and nice but thecolor I think we're gonna pop right inthe middle of the lid let's go fororiginator here because I haven't usedthat one yet it seems like it would bethe brightest lightest shade in thepalette and Wow with no special baseunderneath aside from just the eyeprimer we're gonna get a reallybeautiful pop here on the center of thelid with that and just kind of smoothingout the edges I might come back in witha deeper shade just to keep that reallyfocused on the center of the lid but seewhat I mean about the shimmers in thispalette they didn't try to reinvent thewheel you know and give us a totallydifferent texture or something that waspacked with a lot of glitter just theseeasy pearly Sheen kind of colors thatare just very easy to work with and kindof predict how they're going to be gonnatake a little bit of Explorer and usethat to kind of merge my shades togethera bit bettersometimes it's hard when you do yourlight pop in the middle because you'rethinking of blending from both theoutside and the inside whereas I mightnormally just let a light shade come allthe way inthat's kind of fun it looks like almosta glossy pop right there and then whatdo you say we take just a smaller brushthis is a Sigma e-40 7 same shadeoriginator and give ourselves a littlebrightness right in here does that verywell and then I'm gonna take a pencilbrush and I'm gonna go back to Voyageror plum plummy Brown I should say it'snot not a real pure purpley plum butit's got a hint of it it's got enoughfor me and just blend thatI want to get right to this new mascaraand this is called the false lash liftand I am loving this it really builds upa beautiful fan of lashes pretty quicklynot quite as thick of lashes assuperhero might give me but a greatvolume of lashes a great quantity ofthem and I love the way it builds onitself if you can manage to like buildup another coat before it totally getsdry it really does make a difference thebrush of very popular design these dayswith the shallow curve shallow sort ofhourglass shape and I'm gonna apply thisjust one coat here and this was one thatI really liked from word go like thefirst application it was really greatfor me it may continue getting evenbetter because that's a lot of timeswhat mascaras will do but a nice amountof length coming off of this just withthat one really quickly applied coat andthen I'll go back and curl this side andwe'll return to this other eye and Ijust I think it builds really well andif you're new to my videos you know I'vegot lashes that kind of like to pointdownward really really straight lashesstraight as my hair I appreciateproducts that can kind of help hold thecurl and not weigh down too much and Ilike things that build quickly and don'tforce me to fuss over the lashes toolong because you know have you ever beenin that position where you're like okayI'm applying another coat and anothercoat and instead of looking better itends up just kind of looking worsebecause everything's kind of clumping inon itself now here with coat number twoI'm loving two coats is the sweet spotfor me this great lengthI haven't worn this on my lower lashesyet but I'm gonna try it today and we'lljust see how that goes I don't have anysort of waterproof claim on this so Idon't have like high hopes so I'm givingmyself like the lightest applicationever down there on the lower lasheswe're just gonna finish off this lookwith a quick lip color that I know Ilove the super stain Matt ink crayonthere's this light kind of pinky mobthat I really think is super Universaland great but I also have this brightpink called treat yourself so that'swhat I'm going to put on today and whatI love about these is the thinness ofapplication you can get they almost seemto melt down and thin out as you putthem onand full-color like crazy they're justgreatand I'm not always dying to wear a mattelip product but this kind of thing makesit a pretty pleasant experience allaroundah love thatlove that so much so guys here's thefinished look that we're working withthat lash lift mascara I again thinkit's pretty impressive and I don't lovea lot of mascaras I'm kind of hard toplease and I think I'm definitely goingto continue using that stuff I like thelength I like that I was able to get tothis point pretty quickly and the curlholding has seemed to be pretty good forme so far so for me that and this needsof new york i shadow palette are the bighighlights here and i don't really havea big problem with the cream blush orthe foundation either I think they'reboth very like dry skin friendlyproductsI guess the blush is fine I'm kind ofmentally like comparing it back to the Mcosmeticsserum blushes which i think are theultimate best of this sort of categorybut I still like this stuff and I wouldbe open to even trying some other shadesthe foundation I see some oxidizinghappening with it and it's fine I don'tfeel like it's really broken the mold asfar as radiant type foundations go butit does add a definite like nice amountof moisture to the skin if that's whatyou're after for me it might almostverge on more than I want in terms of atacky feel and I am sort of a normal todry skin type right now as you saw wejust kind of filled in the blanks withother read too maybelline things andthey have a nice highlight they have anice of course matte lip crayon love one brand because I know I'vegot a lot of new Milani as well I'mseeing some bits and pieces here andthere from other lines that might comein to future videos let me know whatyou're seeing what you're I'll seeyou soon bye okay we're at between 4 & 5hours of wear right now and I think theverdict on the lower lash mess here is ano because it's definitely smudging alittle bit sorry it's hard not to likewhen I rub it away lip color of coursehanging on pretty well what do you haveto say aboutFoundation still feels kind of dewy asI've noticed it still looks pretty evenand all and nicely radiant but it justkind of throws me for a loop becausewhen I touch it it just it doesn't feelquite as smooth as a more mattefoundation might feel but also I want tonote that on the upper lashes the curlis holding really nicely with thatmascara because I haven't touched thatup or haven't touched anything up forthat matter so that's where we're atright nowno touch-ups here at 3 p.m. and I'mfeeling like maybe the foundation now Ihave touched my face I've caught myselftouching my face and I know that's notgood that doesn't help the situation atall but around my nose I don't thinkI've been messing with my nose and Ithink there's been kind of somebreakdown in the product there I'mlooking a little shinier than I mightnormally and I think that is becauseit's this was sort of a rich hydratingfoundation and it might be best suitedfor the driest skin out there really butI'm pleased with the eye look that'shanging on but yeah I just wanted tocheck in and let you know how it's beengoing thank you guys
